Father’s Day in London for Every Type of Dad

    June 13, 2013 /

The Serious Dad You’ve seen the film and may even have read the book. Now see the stage show at the New London Theatre, Drury Lane, because it knocks spots off the other versions. We’re talking about War Horse of course, a story that’s wasted on kids (but go with your Dad anyway and take lots of hankies!). The music is brilliant and the puppetry, by South Africa’s Handspring Company, is out of this world. When the ad says ‘brings breathing, galloping, full-scale horses to life on stage’ it really isn’t joking. Sounds unbelievable? Maybe, but it works and works brilliantly. The Times gave the show five stars and called…

Exercise and Travel – What Do You Do?

    June 12, 2013 /

Travelling creates a difficult situation for anyone who likes to keep to a routine. For people who don’t, they’re probably wondering what the big deal is. Who cares, I’m on vacation right? Routines are for those who lead boring button down lives and have no business with the thrill seeking, seat of your pants types who frequent the travel world. Which, of course, isn’t true at all. When it comes to staying in shape to travel, people seem to fall into a few different camps: – Those who don’t care – Those who get in shape for their holiday but let it go during – Those who try to stay…

    Other Travellers Stress Me Out!

    June 5, 2013 /

Do you ever find yourself playing the competition game with other travellers? You know the one I’m talking about. Who has been to most remote place, spent the least on gelato, went on the least amount of sleep, who has eaten the grossest thing? Does this ring a bell? We’re all guilty of it on some level. We get proud of our accomplishments and like to compare notes with others to see who is doing it the ‘right’ way and get pleasure from knowing you’re superior in some way to someone else. It’s douchey and pointless but in a lot of ways it’s also fun. Except it really stresses…

Five Favourite Things to Do at the Airport

    May 29, 2013 /

Travellers spend a lot of time at airports and it’s quite easy to get bored during those long stints when you’re waiting for your flight. For some people this is the worst part of the whole trip, the waiting game, but for others it’s a necessary evil. Keep in mind, there’s generally nothing that can be done about waiting at the airport, especially if there’s a delay, so you might as well make the most of your time! Here’s a list of the best things to do when you find yourself in an airport for a few hours, be it because you got there too soon or your flight…

Yes, a Girl Can Have Fun on the Cheap in Magaluf

    May 26, 2013 /

Magaluf is an exciting and dynamic vacation spot with fine restaurants, amazing nightclubs and stunning marinas. Of course, all of these things mean that Magaluf can be a very pricey place to visit. Many women may cross Majorca off their destination list if they are a little short on funds, but they shouldn’t, as there are ways to have cheap holidays to Magaluf. Perhaps the most obvious of cheap places to be is the beach. With a towel, some water and a good book, all women can enjoy the sun and atmosphere that Magaluf has to offer while not spending anything at all. The beach is also a great place to…
