    Top Serene Sites in Burma

    February 13, 2013 /

Burma may be a destination famous for its spectacular temples and stupas, but I’m here to tell you that its landscapes are equally exciting. For me, there are some places that really stand out for their scenery and serene atmosphere – and, because they offer something quite different to a lot of destinations closer to home, I think it’s well worth making sure at least one of them is on your itinerary. Of course, that begs the question of exactly just where you should go. I’ve put together a brief list of some of the country’s most tranquil spots, which will hopefully give you some insight. 1) Inle Lake I’ll…

Discover the Old and the New of the Wild West – Touring the USA

    February 12, 2013 /

When people think of holidays to the US they tend to think of sun-drenched beaches, bustling cities or parks with large-eared giant mice roaming around them. There is, however, a growing trend in those taking US touring holidays. Using their break to see more than just one thing, and getting to see multiple parts of this vast country. Of these tours, the bright lights and the natural wonders of the Wild West has to be one of the best. Las Vegas is not only the most exhilarating city in the US, it also serves as an ideal launchpad for touring the world-famous landmarks and spectacles that are scattered throughout the…

    Top European City Break Destinations

    February 12, 2013 /

Thinking of taking a city break in Europe? Good choice – the continent is home to loads of fantastic cities that are well worth exploring. Below, you’ll find the three that either top my to-visit list or have already earned a special place in my heart. Barcelona Barcelona is easily one of my all-time favourite holiday destinations. It’s got everything you could possibly want: mind-blowing architecture, incredible food, gorgeous gardens, great beaches, amazing nightlife… What more could you ask for? I spent a week here a few years ago and I’m itching to go back. If you’re heading there soon, don’t miss out on these staples: • Sagrada Familia: The famous cathedral…

Why Can’t Christmas be in February?

    February 11, 2013 /

Every year Christmas comes and goes and I always say the same thing – why does it have to be in December? Whose bright idea was it to put the end of the calendar year and the most demanding social holiday within a week of each other? I should get that guy’s (or girl’s – we can’t be sexist!) number and give him/her a piece of my mind for really messing it up when it came to spacing out important events.   How are you supposed to cram everything in you want to in such a short period of time? Seeing everyone and buying everything to the point of…

Places to see in South America

    February 7, 2013 /

The grand continent of South America is packed full of deserts, mountains, beaches, jungles, wetlands, untouched civilisations. Some of the world’s most amazing cities are here, and many of the world’s natural wonders. It’s a hopping off point to the barren South Pole and far removed culturally from the United States. It’s been home to bloodthirsty Mayans and cocaine drug lords. The exotic mix of ancient heritage and Spanish and Portuguese influence make South America a unique place that’s just screaming out to be visited. Here’s a few of the very best places to visit… Rio de Janeiro Easily one of the most visually stunning cities in the world, Rio…
