Why London is Great for International Work!

There are so many international opportunities these days for various lines of work that you’d be foolish not to try them out at least once in your life. If you’re young, it gives you great experience that will help further your career and expand your worldview; if you’re older it may be just the change you need to reignite your passion and let you see a different way of doing things. It doesn’t matter what line of work you’re in, there’s a job out there for you.

When it comes to IT jobs in London, you have a lot to choose from. There are many postings in various locations over the city and can be done as a short term excursion or a permanent move. While the work is the main reason you will take the position, you can’t discount the ancillary benefits that go along with it – you’ll be in London! With so many opportunities just waiting for you to explore and enjoy, it’ll be one of the greatest decisions you ever make.

If you are a native English speaker…

… your transition will be relatively easy but you’ll have fun learning all the quirky British idioms that make each day a riot. London is a world class city where people from all over the world, particularly the English speaking world, visit so you’ll have no shortage of new and interesting people to meet.

If you aren’t a native English speaker…

… you’re in a great place to improve your language ability. Immersing yourself in a language is one of the greatest ways to learn and test out in real world situations. The work you have to do is largely the same regardless of where you are in the world, but the experience you’ll gain from living in London may help you in your later work when you return home, particularly if there’s an international component of the job.

If you love to travel…

… London is an incredible jumping off point for the rest of Europe. It’s nothing to pop over to Paris for the weekend or anywhere else on the mainland with little planning, making it difficult (perhaps) to not get overwhelmed by all your travel options. Keep in mind too, the United Kingdom is a fantastic place to check out in itself, ranging from Wales, Scotland, all the way over to Northern Ireland and the rest of England. With so much to see and do in London you might be tempted to skip out on seeing the rest of the country, but you’d be missing out on some of the best destinations in the world.

A final point worth mentioning – London can be an expensive city to travel to but if you’re living there and being paid in British pounds, you can save a decent amount of money and suddenly those expensive excursions become much more affordable.
