Expectation: Four Poems

* inspired by todays @Baffled #HaikuChallenge

#1
Dead expectations
wait behind cracked doors within
this redundant realm.

#2
There’s only one rule.
Release all expectations
and just be present.

#3
The body ripples
in expectation of skin
touching skin again

#4
I’m simply alone
with empty expectations
and a naive heart

This Time

At a loss

yet still aware that

I don’t know

anything

except how my body burns

every time you’re near.

Untitled

there’s simplicity

within the heart allowed to

embrace confusion

An “It’s too late” Poem: #Novpad Day 18

No Place

There is no place
for this-

soft release of my
own self into arms
that hold
and just hold,

small curl into his space
to be seen
to be free,

yielding of skin
with fear that
has finally softened,

as my focus melts
his eyes and
now I can only
see my own.

No, there is no place
for this-
lock up
and
retreat,

cracked and shadowed
sanctuary of
memory

within me
between us

And I wonder
in sadness
in fear, in anger

If this time

Is the time

to go.

Alone.

A “Fruit” Poem: #Novpad Day 22

Pomegranate

Round and hard,
the dull dirty red
disguising
the crimson
treasure buried deep within.
The fruit falls open
red rubies
swollen with sweet juice
begging me
to indulge
Whispering secrets
of the mysteries hidden
in the fiery red realm of Hades,
a lonely, frightened Persephone,
I am seduced.

A “Different Perspective” poem #novpad Day 10

“Muse”

I exist
in the space between
thoughts and
ideas,
inhaling and exhaling
manifestation.
