Heat Wave

100 degrees

the heat index will whisper

neuropathic lies

Sorrow*

*inspired by my friend, Azzorrahhnovahh

Inhale then exhale

allowing the day to breathe

raindrops like sorrow

Unemployment Lines

Z to A in 26 Days- Nov 26- D is for Dream

*for Andrew

And there you are

as the golden car passes through you

you smile with your cynical blue eyes

and I know you know

The liquor store’s yard sale

and you begin to cry

picking through junk

begging for help

and my brother is too late

bending the corner a moment behind

not knowing as you scream for him

yet I know

And I see he still needs you

as you still need him.

I had a dream about my friend Andrew who passed away. The poem almost paints a picture of the dream in its true form.

D IS FOR DREAM
