Season of Loss

The hours

seem to linger

as outstretched minutes add

another year to this season

of loss.

Empty Room

Who am I

within the silence?

Forgotten

and afraid,

slipping into spaces that

no longer exist.

Postcard #7

Each step a misstep

echoing footfalls along

the lines of freedom

Say Goodbye

Even now,

as I write these words,

I’m not here

anymore.

It’s time for you to let go

and just say goodbye.

Anywhere~Postcard #6

When she says

‘anywhere but here,”

each word cracks.

Finally,

silencing the old voices

that always said “no”.

Thoughts On Death At Dawn

As I lay dying

I recall I’m just sleeping,

dreaming; all is well.

The morning opens

expanding just to let go

morbid thoughts retreat.

It was not a death

just a rest before the dawn

and i am inspired

by the bright thunder

and rumbling streaks of lightening

stirring my senses

reminding me of

a time I relished mornings

with my own starfish.

Today there is less

darkness within the sunshine

offering me rest.

*wrote this piece years ago about a transition within…from darkness to light…thought I would share it over at dVerse~Poets Pub !
