Day 3 of 30 Days of Truth

Day 3: something you have to forgive yourself for

I
Hope to
Find
A way
To forgive
Myself
The
Sharp blades
Bitter words
I used to harm
My soul and
Body.
Such
Hatred
Scars.

Sacred Heart

In my sacred heart

rubys form within flesh where

the blood rolls like tears.

O Sovereign Mistress of True Melancholy*

As the sun ascends

the dark night of the soul

descends upon her

The morning whispers in light

and the easy arrival of hope,

yet she is wrapped

in a dense doom

that blinds her eyes

to the open

wide arms of reality.

She prays for soft mornings

with no false velvet cloaks

and scratching pain.

She hopes for mornings

next to him,

her guardian ,

of  the lady lioness within.

Opening her eyes

to his vigilant guardianship

of her safety as she feels

the gravity of the morning dark.

He offers her the gift

of a moment of  happines

should she be willing

to accept his Regal offering.

Submitted for Jingle Poetry Potluck Monday

The title comes from Shakespeare
