Welcome to my life…on the inside.
Honestly. I do not feel that all is “lovely”, but am starting to shift my patterns of thought. I have chosen to start the process of trying not to refer to myself as anything less than lovely…including the dark, shit encrusted realms of my self.
Plus the word feels amazing rolling off my tongue when I say it aloud.
“Lovely…”
Your turn (I will wait)
Did you notice the way the word felt as you said it? Ahhhh. Wonderful.
The Guest House
This being human is a guest house.
Every morning a new arrival.
A joy, a depression, a meanness,
some momentary awareness comes
as an unexpected visitor.
Welcome and entertain them all!
Even if they are a crowd of sorrows,
who violently sweep your house
empty of its furniture,
still, treat each guest honorably.
He may be clearing you out
for some new delight.
The dark thought, the shame, the malice.
meet them at the door laughing and invite them in.
Be grateful for whatever comes.
because each has been sent
as a guide from beyond.

One of the tenets of poetry is mouth-feel, the way words roll around in the mouth and off the tongue. It pairs with our hearing because the sound starts in our heads and at the back of our throats before they tumble out over our teeth and lips. Chew your words well.

Life is beautiful, only if you open your eyes and see it in it’s reality.
Here is my thought on the same from my latest post of Haiku
Cherry blossoms know
How to flower
Eyes don’t know how to speak
The thing is that we really dont know how to look. Its all about really seeing the reality and the beauty in all of it carries. Some times we do look deeply but then we can not convey its real essence through words…
I loved the Rumi’s work and thanks for sharing this one…
